Summary

  • Aerocare completed a refurbishment project on an Embraer Legacy 600 for AirX Charter.
  • The results were stunning, with a complex golden livery and a luxurious interior that complements.
  • Aerocare worked closely with AeroVisto and Embraer to ensure the livery and interior were of adequate quality.

It took some time, but the wait was well worth the results. Recently, a Chester-based aircraft maintenance company, Aerocare, completed the refurbishment of an Embraer Legacy 600 owned by one of Europe's largest private jet operators, AirX Charter.

The operator turned to Aerocare after being commissioned by the aircraft owner to replicate the custom gold livery of their existing Boeing Business Jet, even down to the specific paint type.

Despite this being a tough and oddly particular job, Aerocare has done a flawless job on the outside and sought the help of AeroVisto concerning the aircraft's new interior. With an intricately complex golden livery and an equally luxurious interior to match, this aircraft redefines the look and feel of a business jet. Here's a sneak peek of how Aerocare pulled off the near-perfect replica.

Before diving into the project, the refurbished aircraft must be discussed. New Macau Landmark Management initially managed the nearly two-decade-old aircraft after it was delivered in September 2004 under its previous registration, N888ML. Jet Asia operated the plane before it switched owners, being given to AirX Charter in December last year, which re-registered it as 9H-IMP.

The private operator also manages the new owner's existing Boeing Business Jet with a unique livery, registered 9H-ELF. While the new owner's identity remains unknown, data from FlightRadar24.com indicates the Embraer jet is heavily used daily, frequently traveling to various European destinations - primarily to cities in France, Italy, Spain, and Greece, among others.

A stunning golden livery

Working off of photos of the Boeing Business Jet provided by AirX Charter and the aircraft's owner, Aerocare first created a render of the specific livery for use on the smaller Embraer aircraft. To ensure an "as close-to-perfect" or even exact match of the determined Mankiewicz paint used on the BBJ, Aerocare's team communicated directly with the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer.

It was essential for Aerocare to obtain specialist approval for the required non-standard paint utilization. Once consent was obtained, the team could carry out the painting from its dedicated shop, eventually delivering the private jet with an almost perfectly matching livery, much to the owner's and AirX Charter's delight.

A luxurious new interior

With the livery nailed, Aerocare cooperated with AeroVisto on re-doing the aircraft's main cabin. The existing interior was removed at Aerocare's maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility before being shipped to AeroVisto in Switzerland. The latter company then re-created it to match the overall outlook and vibe of the above-mentioned Boeing Business Jet.

AeroVisto partnered with the Parisian designer Champeu & Wilde to create individual elements for the new bespoke interior. Once all the required details were completed, AeroVisto delivered the revamped interior back to Chester for Aerocare to conduct a re-installation and finish the overall renewal of 9H-IMP.

Trust, communication, and proper coordination were vital to ensure the success of this phase of the refurbishment project. This process saw various deliveries of different parts across multiple countries, and as highlighted by Carstern Matthiesen, Chief Executive Officer at AeroVisto,

"This project aimed to create a sense of luxury both inside and out, something the collaborative effort between all parties was able to deliver truly. It has also provided a good opportunity to build a relationship with Aerocare, and we look forward to working together on similarly creative solutions in the future.”
